The Sony Playstation 5 or The PS5 has been finally soft launched in India. As everyone knows, the pre-orders start from 12th of January 2021 at 12 PM, and the console will finally release on 2nd of February 2021. After so much waiting, spamming, taunting, and abusing Sony and Playsation, we finally have the hope of getting a PS5 officially in India, because to be frank, I was scared whether the console would even launch in India or not. The console will be available to buy from Amazon India, Flipkart, GamesTheShop, ShopatSC, Reliance Digital, Croma, Vijay Sales and other Sony Authorised Dealers.

WHERE TO BUY AND WHERE NOT TO?

The PS5 is officially launching in India on the 2nd of February, but a lot of imported console units are still present in India. There will be many people in the country, specially offline retailers who would try to sell you an imported unit, stating it to be Indian and will try to pull you towards themselves by stating that they will give you a 2-3 thousand rupee discount if you pre-order. If you come across any such retailers, then just simply walk away from them without giving them any money.

Coming “To The Point”, the best place to buy The PS5 would be at the stores mentioned above, because these are big e-commerce and electronic resellers and getting an imported version of the console from them is near impossible. I have been tracking a twitter account that has been tracking PS5 India launch for a very long time, and that account gives an assumption that around 13,400 units of the PS5 should be available at the time of launch, which I think, will give everyone a fair chance to pre-book the console. Keep a look out at every website mentioned above and I am sure that you will be able to pre-book one.

Now coming “To The Point” of where not to buy. Let me make it very clear that I am not dissing or saying that all offline local Sony Retailers are frauds, but try to find an offline retailer who DOES NOT deal in grey market products. The only motive of such people is doing business, and they can cheat on you to get money. I know a some trustworthy local retailers in Gurugram Haryana who, I know will give you a genuine and authentic product. Just put a message on the website and I will get back to you ASAP.

WHAT TO CHECK WHEN BUYING

First of all, check the yellow tag, which is the warranty sticker, which is usually on the front side of the box.

Then, there should be a warranty card inside the box.

The power cable should be round pin one, which you usually see in all appliances in India.

Last but not the least, see that you get a proper, computer generated GST paid bill, so that you know that it is a genuine product and it will help you avail your warranty.

My best wishes to all my gamer buddies out there, and I know that if you are real gamer enthusiast, you are sure to get one. Also pray for me that I am able to book one 😊.

DO NOT FORGET TO MESSAGE ME IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE LOCAL RETAILERS IN GURUGRAM OTHER THAN THE ONES MENTIONED ABOVE.

Stay safe, healthy and TO THE POINT!!!!!
